Limit Break

Limit is a command ability used to perform Limit Breaks, also known as Limits.

Limit Breaks are skillsets unique to each party member. As they are attacked by opponents, their anger builds until they unleash a powerful special technique. When using a Limit Break, a flame-colored light emits from their body before the technique is used.

To active a Limit Break, you must have taken an amount of damage equal to double your max HP. When a Limit has been reached, you may instead perform a normal attack action, saving the Limit Break for another combat. Once a Limit break is perform successfully, you gain a level of exhaustion, equal to the level of the technique, for one round. If you are rendered unconscious before performing the Limit Break, it is lost and must be reached again.

Limits can be either offensive or defensive, however, once a style of Limit Break is chosen at a particular level, it cannot be changed. The Limit Break can be described in any manner based on the following guidelines:

Cast Paralyze and Silence on all targets

Cure all status ailments

9th 4 Critical hit x4 on one target of your choice
OR
Fills the two ally Limit Breaks to maximum

12th 5 Critical hit x3 (AoE: 20 ft.)
OR
Gives all party members temporary invincibility

15th 6 Normal attack and inflict a status effect on all targets (roll once for damage)
OR
Fully restores HP/MP and cures all negative status effects

17th 7 Up to 5 critical hits of your choice of opponents
OR
Completely restores the HP/MP of the party and makes the party temporarily invincible to all physical and magical attacks
